The short version: By booking a job with us, you’re agreeing to these terms. We’ve kept them as plain as we can. If anything’s unclear, just give us a shout and we’ll explain.

The basics

These terms apply to every job we do for you. “We”, “us” and “Grime Busters” mean Grime Busters NZ Ltd. “You” means the person booking the service.

By booking with us or using our website, you’re confirming you’re 18 or over and you have the right to book a service for the property.

What we do

We offer four services for Auckland homes:

  • Carpet cleaning and stain treatment
  • House washing (walls, decks, driveways and paths)
  • Roof cleaning and moss treatment
  • Pest control for common household pests

The actual work is done by vetted local contractors who work with us. We coordinate the booking, stand behind the quality of the work, and you only deal with us.

Booking and quotes

When you ask for a quote, we give you an estimate based on what you tell us. The final price gets confirmed once we see the property in person.

  • Quotes are good for 14 days from when we send them
  • Your booking is locked in once you get a written confirmation from us
  • If we turn up and the job is bigger than what you described, we’ll let you know the new price first. You can say no without any charge

Pricing and payment

All our prices are in New Zealand dollars and include GST (15%).

  • Payment is due within 7 days of the job being done
  • We accept bank transfer, card, or cash
  • Late invoices may pick up 2% interest per month after the due date
  • If you don’t pay after 30 days, we may pass on debt collection costs

Cancelling or rescheduling

Life happens. Here’s how we handle it:

  • Cancel or reschedule at least 48 hours before your booking? No charge
  • Cancel within 24 hours of your booking and we may charge up to $75 to cover the contractor’s lost time
  • If we have to cancel for any reason, we’ll give you at least 24 hours notice and rebook you for free
  • Bad weather? We’ll reschedule with no penalty either way

Access to your property

For us to do the job properly, we need you to:

  • Make sure we can get to all the areas being cleaned at the agreed time
  • Tell us about any hazards, fragile items, or anything we should know about
  • Keep pets and kids out of the work area while we’re there
  • Make sure water and power are available if we need them
Heads up: If we turn up and can’t get access, we may need to charge a cancellation fee since the contractor has already blocked out the time.

Liability and insurance

We’re fully insured. Every contractor we work with has their own Public Liability Insurance too.

  • Our liability is limited to the value of the job we did
  • We can’t be held responsible for pre-existing damage or wear and tear
  • We can’t cover loss of income or other indirect costs
  • If something gets damaged during the job, let us know within 48 hours with photos so we can sort it
  • None of this overrides your rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 or Fair Trading Act 1986

Our guarantee

We back our work. If you’re not happy with the result:

  • Tell us within 48 hours of the job finishing
  • We’ll come back and put it right at no extra cost
  • The guarantee covers the work we did. It doesn’t cover problems that were already there or stuff outside the agreed job

Privacy

We look after your personal info under the New Zealand Privacy Act 2020. Have a read of our Privacy Policy for the full picture. By booking with us, you’re saying you’re OK with how we use your information.

Sorting out problems

If something goes wrong, here’s what we do:

  • First, get in touch with us at hello@grimebusters.co.nz
  • We’ll get back to you within 2 business days and try to sort it within 10
  • If we still can’t agree, the matter can go to the Disputes Tribunal of New Zealand (for claims up to $30,000) or the appropriate court

These terms are governed by New Zealand law.

Changes to these terms

We might update these terms now and then. The latest version always lives on our website with the date at the top. If you keep using our service after we update them, you’re agreeing to the new version.
