Who we are
Grime Busters NZ Ltd (“we”, “us”, “Grime Busters”) is an Auckland cleaning business. You can reach us at hello@grimebusters.co.nz any time you’ve got a privacy question.
We’re the ones looking after your info, and we take that pretty seriously.
What we collect
Only what we need to give you a quote and do the job:

How we use it
Your info gets used for the things you’d expect:
- To get back to you with a quote
- To book the job and arrange the contractor
- To send you booking confirmations and reminders
- To process your payment
- To send a quick “how did we do” email after the job
- To send the odd offer or update, only if you’ve said yes (and you can unsubscribe any time)
- To make the website work better
Who we share it with
Only the people who need it to do the job:
- Your contractor: They get your name, address and what needs doing. Nothing more. They’ve all signed confidentiality agreements with us.
- Payment providers: If you pay by card, a secure payment provider handles the transaction. We never see or store your card details.
- Tools we use: Things like email, booking software and Google Analytics. They process info on our behalf under proper agreements.
- If the law makes us: If a court order or law requires it, we’ll comply. We’ll let you know if we can.
Cookies and tracking
Our website uses a few cookies to keep things running and help us understand what’s working:
- The essential ones: Needed for the site to actually work
- Analytics: Google Analytics tells us things like which pages people visit. It’s anonymised. You can opt out at tools.google.com/dlpage/gaoptout
- Marketing: Only switched on if you say yes
You can turn cookies off in your browser settings. Some bits of the site might not work as well if you do.
Keeping it safe
- Your info sits on encrypted, password-protected systems
- We hang onto customer info for up to 7 years for tax and accounting reasons, then we delete it
- Our website uses SSL encryption (the little padlock in your browser)
- Only the people who need access have access
- If something ever goes wrong and there’s a serious data breach, we’ll let you and the Privacy Commissioner know straight away, as the Privacy Act 2020 requires

The Privacy Act 2020 gives you a bunch of rights over your info:

Ask us to wipe your info when we no longer need to keep it

Tell us not to use your info for marketing
To use any of these, just email hello@grimebusters.co.nz. We’ll get back to you within 20 working days, as the Privacy Act says we should.
Other websites
Sometimes we link out to other sites (Google Maps, our social media). What happens there is up to them, not us. Have a read of their privacy policies if you’re worried.
Kids
Our service is for grown-ups (18 and over). We don’t knowingly collect info from anyone under 16. If you reckon we have, let us know and we’ll delete it straight away.
Changes to this policy
We might tweak this policy from time to time. The latest version always lives on our website with the date at the top. If we make any big changes, we’ll email our existing customers to let them know.
